First day back

Sunday, 7:01 pm

What a weekend. We took Calder skiing to Wapiti on Saturday with my brother and sister-in-law. It was a beautiful day and Calder did amazing. It was such a fun time. Boone had a good visit with Grandma and Grandpa in Tisdale. I know he was spoiled with loving (Grandma followed him up and down their stairs dozens of times, so he definitely enjoyed himself!).

Both boys had started getting colds and coughs on Friday. Today they are worse and I have the cold part. I had a 3 hour nap today which seemed to help. Hopefully some orange juice tonight and a good nights rest will leave me feeling well for my first day back to work. I am flat out of sick days, so I need to get myself mended!

My first day back to work. . . . I am feeling a myriad of emotions, but I am trying not to think about them. Tomorrow is going to arrive and I have made my decision. And it was a good decision. I don't want to let anxiety and sadness ruin the bit of excitement I have for starting something new. I am going back to work, so after a few hours of self pity this afternoon, I am focusing on being thankful for the year I had at home to bond with my kids and for the wonderful job I have to go back to.

Tomorrow I begin my journey as a new kind of super mom. The kind that has 2 kids to look out for, a demanding, rewarding job, and a husband to keep in check ;-) I am looking forward to rocking this new role.

Happy Monday!

  1. I have no doubt you will rock it today; you're that kind of teacher (and now you are dressed to kill too) Also? I wanna know what you wore for your first day back.

  4. I just got to my blog to read the comments! Thanks ladies - Super busy week! I had a hectic first day, but mostly due to technical issues (SMART board, computer, printer set-up and our attendance reporting system). Today was actually quite a good day. That being said I am exhausted! Deena, I wore the black leggings with the "leather" panel in the front, a green top and black blazer with my black pumps. It felt like I had no other options . . . It was St. Patrick's Day and that was my only green shirt!
